Art Radar is offering a Paid Internship of 2.5 to 3 days per week for a monthly payment of US$400. The internship period will run for 6 months, with a 2 month probation period. There may be a permanent opening available after the 6 month period has been completed. The role is conducted entirely online, so applicants can be based anywhere in the world.
As an Art Radar Intern, your responsibilities will include (but are not necessarily limited to):
- producing at least three short articles per week for publication on Art Radar
- assisting with marketing of our education programmes and with student recruitment
- producing our monthly client email newsletter, Radial
- managing the promotion of our content through secondary publication channels
- various administrative and other tasks
For the right candidate, there may also be the opportunity to learn to edit stories submitted for publication by our writers and students.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is extremely committed and flexible and who sees this role as an invaluable opportunity to gain experience working for a busy online art newspaper. This is a highly demanding role where you will be a key member in a small but focused team which will be relying on you heavily. The ability to work fast, meet deadlines and clearly and regularly communicate progress on projects is vital, and the successful candidate will have the ability to get the job done within very tight time frames. You will report to the Editor, but will also work for or with other team members as required, including the Executive Editor and the Copy Editor.
Skills and attributes that are essential for the role include:
- a proven passion for contemporary art
- native level English language skills
- ability to work entirely online and from home
- an education to tertiary level
- an interest in online social media
- reliable and regular access to a computer with a speedy broadband connection
Skills and attributes that are desirable but not essential for the role include:
- proficiency with Google online software and products
- journalism experience
- marketing experience
- general or web design experience (including experience in HTML coding)
- a second Asian language
- living in Asia in a large city
