Art Stage Singapore’s educational outreach programme Art Speaks is organising a free talk for the 2012 edition of the Singapore urban architecture festival Archifest. OPEN CALL Tokyo | call for donations | Mori Art Museum – unspecified

For his upcoming exhibition at the Mori Art Museum, Japanese artist Aida Makoto decided to try a different funding model, or, rather, revamping a very old model for the modern age. In the medieval period in Japan, “Kanjin” was the practice of soliciting funds for religious purposes, including sacred art and architecture. Makoto aims to see how this might work for artists in the age of Kickstarter. Donators will receive a number of art-related goodies for their contribution. MORE HERE
