Reporting to the Manager of the Artist Initiative (AI), the Lead Collections Preparator assists in the management of art operations at the Collections Center, in accordance with best practices established by SFMOMA’s registration department. Works closely with the AI Director and AI Manager to collaborate with and support the AI project teams in the research, documentation, and interpretation of their artist engagements. The Lead Collections Center Preparator is a key team member in the development of the full potential of the Collections Center as a site for innovative research and creative engagement with the museum’s collections while maintaining the highest standards of care and security.
