OPEN CALL | New York | Artist Residency | Fire Island Artist Residency – 4 April 2016

Celebrating its sixth season on Fire Island in Cherry Grove, New York this year, Fire Island Artist Residency (FIAR) is now accepting applications for its prestigious and internationally recognised summer residency programme for artists identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer. Five selected artists will share a live/work space in the historically queer island hamlet of Cherry Grove, NY for a four-week programme marked by intimate studio visits with and public lectures by renowned leaders in contemporary art and curation. The programme is free to residents, who are provided with a stipend for meals and a free, modest live/work space. MORE HERE

The Courtauld seeks to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Events Manager to join its busy Development Office for the duration of one year. A key role within the Development team, the successful post holder will support fundraising and other development activities (e.g. membership and alumni relations) through the planning and delivery of an extensive programme of stewardship and cultivation events. The successful candidate should have significant knowledge and experience of managing a wide variety of events gained preferably within the arts, higher education or charity sectors, possess strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels as well as excellent IT skills. MORE HERE

OPEN CALL | Massachusetts | Curatorial Fellow in East Asian Art | Harvard Art Museums – apply by unspecified

The Henderson Curatorial Fellow conducts object-based research and scholarship on the East Asian Collections of the Harvard Art Museums, with a focus on the holdings of Korean paintings and calligraphy. Under the supervision of the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Associate Curator of Asian Art, the Fellow works to improve cataloguing data, and researches and prepares interpretive exhibition materials for these works. The Curatorial Fellow also assists with a broad range of curatorial activities in the field of East Asian Art, including preparation of interpretive materials, curation of gallery installations and exhibitions, cataloguing of the permanent collection in the Art Museums’ database, and donor cultivation. MORE HERE

Frieze is seeking temporary staff with a good knowledge of contemporary art to fill the position of Exhibitor Assistant and various other roles at this year’s Frieze New York. OPEN CALL | Michigan | Curatorial Fellowship | ArtPrize  – 17 March 2016

The ArtPrize Fellowship for Emerging Curators is a unique opportunity for emerging curators to gain valuable experience by working with a curator at a major ArtPrize institutional venue. The Fellows will work alongside the institution’s curatorial department as they create their ArtPrize exhibit. At the same time, the Fellows will curate and produce their own ArtPrize exhibition, at a separate location, guided by the advice and mentorship of the institutional curator. Curatorial Fellows must be individuals, rather than teams or organisations. Experience curating exhibitions is required, and candidates responding to this opportunity should be current residents of the greater Grand Rapids area. Selected Fellows will be awarded a stipend for their time and funding to assist with exhibition costs. MORE HERE
