Phillips is currently seeking an organised and motivated individual to fill a fixed-term, full-time, four-month internship in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art department, beginning 6 September 2016. Based in their New York Headquarters at 450 Park Avenue, the primary focus of the internship will be to gain insight into the day to day operations of a successful international auction house. Candidates with a specific interest in 20th Century & Contemporary Art are welcome, applications from candidates with an interest in art more generally will also be considered. Interns will have a chance to be trained in Phillips’ systems and research procedures in order to directly contribute to the department throughout an entire sale cycle. MORE HERE

INTERNSHIP | Hong Kong | Multiple Internships | M+ – 22 August 2016

M+ Internship Programme is a unique opportunity for those who are interested in developing a career in the museum field. Interns will be able to work closely with M+’s professional staff full-time for a period of six months and gain practical and theoretical training in areas such as curatorial practice, museum learning, conservation and registration. OPEN CALL | London | Call for Artists | Tate Liverpool – 30 August 2016

Tate Liverpool is fully committed to challenging the ways in which art is presented to the public and how this can evolve through working in social contexts. To this end Tate Liverpool opens the call for collaborative socially engaged artist/s born in or resident in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Finland, Hungary or Germany (partner countries within the Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme). The brief is to research and deliver a new commission in Spring 2017. The commission process will include a research period with the opportunity to develop a new work at Tate Liverpool, in collaboration with local communities and a network of established partners in the North of England and beyond. Artists should have experience of working in the field of collaborative socially engaged practice, understand the ethical issues involved, be relevant to local conditions and engage a broad audience. MORE HERE

INTERNSHIP | Marfa | Education Internship | The Chinati Foundation – 1 November 2016

The Chinati Foundation is a contemporary art museum based upon the ideas of its founder, Donald Judd. The specific intention of Chinati is to preserve and present to the public permanent large-scale installations by a limited number of artists. The emphasis is on works in which art and the surrounding landscape are inextricably linked. For this position, interns assist the Education Coordinator with implementation of programmes, classes, tours, special events, and other initiatives that support the art and vision of Chinati. Responsibilities include leading tours of the collection; preparing educational materials for youth and adult programmes; assisting with K-12 classes, field trips and hands-on activities; writing curriculum; working with local artist instructors, etc. Interns live and work with the permanent collection and are provided with valuable resources and training towards future courses of study and careers in art education and public programmes. The Honolulu Museum of Art (HoMA) is committed to showcasing the highest quality art from around the world for the benefit of residents and visitors. The museum’s art collection has grown into one of the most extensive in the United States, with a special emphasis on works of art that reflect the diverse communities that call Hawaii home. The intern will assist Asian Art Curators and Department Manager with ongoing exhibition, collection and departmental projects. INTERNSHIP | New York | Fall Internship | Swiss Institute / Contemporary Art – 10 August 2016

Swiss Institute / Contemporary Art is seeking reliable and motivated individuals with a passion for contemporary art in both its development and curatorial departments. Swiss Institute is an independent non-profit contemporary art institution dedicated to promoting forward-thinking and experimental art making through innovative exhibitions and programmes. Applicants must be fluent in the Microsoft office suite and comfortable using Mac computers. Experience with Adobe suite preferred, language skills in French, German or Italian are a plus but not necessary. Interns receive a daily stipend of USD15 for lunch and travel expenses. They should commit 3 days a week between the hours of 10am-6pm, in addition to occasional evening hours for special events and openings. This position will be available beginning in September.
