AAA’s fall internship round is now open to undergraduate and graduate students from local and international schools, universities and colleges. The internship programme at AAA is an opportunity for participants to learn how a non-profit art organisation operate and contribute to the cultural discourses. Available positions include Collection & Digital Experience Intern (Acquisitions Assistant), Communications Intern, Development Intern, Editorial Intern, Learning & Participation Intern and Programmes Intern. OPEN CALL | Paducah, USA | Call for Entries | Art Through the Lens – 26 August 2017

Art Through the Lens is an international juried photographic art prize and exhibition organised by The Yeiser Art Center (YAC). International and domestic photographers exploring any themes are welcome to submit unlimited photographic entries, including video and moving images. 60 to 100 images will be selected for exhibition by a highly qualified juror, with five of them receiving cash awards up to USD1,000. Applicants which live within a 100-mile radius of Paducah, Kentucky will automatically be entered into a second jury round for a Regional Showcase component to the show, date and venue TBA. A nonrefundable entry fee of USD15 is required for each photograph submitted. OPEN CALL | Worldwide | Call for Entries | The Working Artist Grant/Art Purchase Award – 31 August 2017

The Working Artist Grant/Art Purchase Award is a one-time opportunity provided by The Working Artist Org., a privately run charitable organisation dedicated to discovering and supporting great contemporary art and artists. The Grant/Award is available to all visual arts artists worldwide without limits in media and subject matters. The winners will be willing to exchange one of their original works or smaller series of original works for inclusion in the collection of the Organisation. Shipping costs will be covered by the Organisation. There is a submission review fee of USD25. MORE HERE

ArtMaze Magazine is a bi-monthly publication both in print and digital supporting and promoting the work of emerging and mid-career artists worldwide. The Magazine’s ANNIVERSARY AUTUMN 2017 International Issue is calling artists from around the world to submit works in any medium for the opportunity to be published and shown internationally. OPEN CALL | Tokyo | Call for Media Arts Creators | The Residency Program for Overseas Media Arts Creators – 19 September 2017

The Residency Program for Overseas Media Arts Creators is an annual artist-in-residence programme for emerging Media Arts creators from around the world to come to Tokyo and create new works. Organised by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Japan, the Residency provides travel expenses and insurance, living allowance, housing, workplace, professional assistance, exhibition and networking opportunities in Japan. The residency will take place from 12 January to 12 March in 2018. No application fees are required, but the residents are responsible for the production expenses. MORE HERE


INTERNSHIP | New York City | Unpaid Internship | Lower East Side Printshop – 15 November 2017

The Printshop is the largest and oldest openly accessible printmaking studio in New York City, hosting artist residencies, classes, workshops, exhibitions, lectures and artists’ talks. Taking place between January to May 2018, the Printshop’s next round of internships offer opportunities to improve printmaking skills, meet other artists and instructors, and learn about professional contemporary art practice. Students can receive academic credit or use the Printshop’s studio space in exchange for their time. MORE HERE


INTERNSHIP | Hong Kong | Unpaid Internship | Videotage – apply by unspecified (until hired)

Videotage is a leading Hong Kong-based non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting, presenting, creating and preserving new media art across all languages, media and forms locally and internationally. The organisation is currently seeking interns to join the team at the Cattle Depot Artist Village to advance their future career in the field of new media art. The part-time internship will involve tasks such as updating websites and social media, liaising with internal and external parties, assisting installation and de-installation and supporting the organisation’s general administration. OPEN CALL | Netherlands | Call for Project Proposals | Cinekid (and three others) – 15 August 2017

Cinekid, La Gaîté Lyrique, KiKK Festival and WoeLab are launching the joint project “Les Voyages de Capitaine futur”, or “Supernatural: Stories of Worlds to Come”. The theme of the joint project revolves around the notion of hybrid ecology. The programme is now calling artists and designers of all forms and practices that use, subvert, investigate and experiment with media, including the fields of artificial intelligence, art & science, robotics, bioart, up/recycling, interactive and speculative design. Three selected artwork proposals will each receive a budget of EUR15,000 (approx. USD16,792) and tour internationally across various festivals and exhibition spaces throughout 2018 and 2019. The successful proposals will be announced on the 31st annual Cinekid Festival in October 2017. MORE HERE
