Organised by the Italian Cultural Association MoCA, the 2017 International Arte Laguna Prize is calling all artists without restrictions to submit their works of any themes. Entries are divided into the following categories: Painting, Sculpture and Installation, Virtual Art, Photographic Art, Digital Graphics, Video Art and Short Films, Performance, Land Art and Urban Art. Five cash prizes of ERU7,000 (approx. USD8,147) each will be assigned to 5 winners. There are other awards/grants and international professional development opportunities including exhibition and residency programmes. The general submission fee is EUR55 (approx. USD64) for 1 work and EUR50 (approx. USD59) for every additional work submitted to the same section. Applicants under 25 years old are entitled to entry fee discounts. MORE HERE
OPEN CALL | Global | Call for Sculptural Entries | 100 Sculptures of Tomorrow – 30 November 2017
100 Sculptures of Tomorrow is a publication offering emerging sculpture artists from around the world to gain international recognition and exposure. The book will be authored by Kurt Beers, Director of Beers London, and published by Thames & Hudson. Submissions by emerging artists of all ages are welcome. There is an entry fee of GBP10 (approx. OPEN CALL | Global | Call for Entries | ITS LIQUID International Contest – 1 December 2017
The 5th edition of ITS LIQUID International Contest is a free theme art award open to artists, architects, designers and fashion designers from all over the world. Worth a total of EUR100,000 (approx. USD116,332) this year, the Prizes are divided into ten categories: painting, installation/sculpture, photography, video art, computer graphics, architecture, performing art, product design, fashion design and illustration/drawing. Winners will also receive professional representation, international exhibition inclusion and online and in-print featuring. Each applicant can submit 2 to 20 artworks resulting in a range of entry fees from EUR30 to EUR180 (approx. USD35 to USD109). MORE HERE
OPEN CALL | Global | Call for Entries | Frieze Artist Award – 11 December 2017
Launching in New York for the first time at Frieze Art Fair in 2018, the Frieze Artist Award is an international open call for an emerging artist to realise a major site-specific work at Frieze Art Fair. Frieze welcomes proposals for new, ambitious and site-specific works that respond to the dynamics of the New York fair in Randall’s Island Park. The Award includes a budget of up to 30,000 USD for production, research and development, artist fees and travel expenses. Applicants will be judged on the innovative nature of their idea and its potential for realization. Forming part of the fair’s non-profit programme, the Frieze Artist Award is supported by the LUMA Foundation. Applications are now being accepted for Frieze New York 2018 through 11 December 2017. OPEN CALL | Hong Kong | Call for Photographic Artists | WMA Commission – 15 December 2017
The Hong Kong-based WMA Commission is now open and inviting local and international proposals from artists and photographers to create new research-based photography work addressing the theme “Transition” and “Hong Kong”. The successful candidate will receive a grant of HKD250,000 (approx. USD32,044) covering artist fee, research, production, daily expenses and a public event. Aperture is a New York-based not-for-profit publisher and organisation for photography worldwide. The organisation’s internship opportunities include the following programmes: Stevan A. Baron Work Scholar Program, Elaine Goldman and John Benis Diversity Internship and The Maryland Institute College of Art Summer Internship.
