One of the leading online platforms covering contemporary art news and trends in Asia and beyond, Art Radar is seeking one part-time Staff Writer to write news and feature articles related to contemporary art in Asia and internationally. The successful candidate will be required to research, source image, compile, publish and promote articles assigned by Editors. The applicants must be able to work with tight deadlines and commit to regular hours each week during weekdays and be flexible on weekends. Reliable access to the internet and computer and native-level English language ability are also essential. AUO is an international art education network platform dedicated to supporting and connecting art students around the globe. The organisation is calling student artists, designers and curators to apply for their 6-month scholarship and mentorship programme starting in early 2018. Mentors include Natsumi Araki, Curator, Mori Art Museum, Wang Chunchen, Head of Curatorial Research, CAFA Art Museum, China and Lee Yongbaek, Artist. The candidates will also gain career development and international networking opportunities. The Scholarship is only open to students within three semesters of completion of an art-related Master’s or PhD and students currently active as an artist or curator. MORE HERE
INTERNSHIP | Boston | Multiple Internships (Part-Time) | Museum of Fine Arts Boston (MFA) – 5 January 2018
Home to a collection of almost 500,000 works of art, the MFA is one of the most comprehensive art museums in the world. The museum is offering an internship programme of over 20 open positions including Videography Internship, South Asian Collection Research Internship, Art of the Americas Graduate Research Internship – Decorative Arts (Latin American Project) and Traveling Exhibitions Internship. OPEN CALL | Casablanca | Call for Artists | 4th International Biennial of Casablanca 2018 – 31 March 2018
Titled “Tales from Water Margins”, the 4th International Biennial of Casablanca 2018 reflects on Morocco’s critical geographic position connecting the Maghrib, sub-Saharan Africa and Europe through the arts. Exploring the notion of “transit” and “translation”, the biennial is calling both national and international artists to submit existing or new works that respond to the curatorial concept. INTERNSHIP | Venice, Italy | Unpaid Internship | The National Pavilion United Arab Emirates (UAE) – 3 December 2017
The National Pavilion United Arab Emirates (UAE) at La Biennale di Venezia manages the UAE’s participation in various offerings of the Biennale. The Venice Internship programme offers training and cultural exchange opportunities for emerging arts and architecture professionals to spend one month in Venice staffing the UAE’s art exhibition at the 16th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia taking place from 26 May 26 to 25 November 2018. The internship is open to Emiratis and long-term residents of the UAE aged 21 and above with an interest or background in arts and architecture. All applicants must register and apply online. OPEN CALL | Tainan, Taiwan | Call for Resident Artists | Soulangh Artist Village (SAV) – 11 December 2017
Located in Tainan, SAV invites international visual artists (including interdisciplinary, performance and photographic artists) to apply for its 2018 Artist in Residency Program (AIR) to create new work in response to theme ‘Site-Specific Art’ and live in close proximity to local craftsmen and artisans. Apart from free accommodation, the organisation will provide successful applicants with a living cost subsidy of maximum TWD30,000 per month (approx. USD994). There will also be the opportunity to receive Presentation Expense Funds worth TWD100,000 (approx. USD3,314) to assist in designing and printing, event organising, performance delivering, etc. Any transportation fees for works are excluded. MORE HERE
OPEN CALL | Global | Call for Entries | Frieze Artist Award – 11 December 2017
Launching in New York for the first time at Frieze Art Fair in 2018, the Frieze Artist Award is an international open call for an emerging artist to realise a major site-specific work at Frieze Art Fair. Frieze welcomes proposals for new, ambitious and site-specific works that respond to the dynamics of the New York fair in Randall’s Island Park. The Award includes a budget of up to 30,000 USD for production, research and development, artist fees and travel expenses. Applicants will be judged on the innovative nature of their idea and its potential for realization. Forming part of the fair’s non-profit programme, the Frieze Artist Award is supported by the LUMA Foundation. Applications are now being accepted for Frieze New York 2018 through 11 December 2017.
