Lévy Gorvy, formed by Dominique Lévy and Brett Gorvy, cultivates a programme devoted to innovation and connoisseurship in the fields of modern, post-war and contemporary art. Reporting to one of the Gallery’s Directors / Artist Liaisons, the Gallery Assistant supports the efforts of the Director in the fields of research, editing, exhibition coordination, comprehensive artist relations and admin support. The applicants must have a 4-year degree in Art History, and a focus on the twentieth century to contemporary art will be preferred. OPEN CALL | Busan, Korea | Artistic Director | The Busan Biennale 2018 – 15 December 2017

The organising committee of Busan Biennale 2018 is openly seeking an artistic director to direct Busan Biennale 2018, which is scheduled to be held in the second half of 2018. The successful candidate will be responsible for presenting exhibition titles, selecting artists and artworks, drawing up a budget and planning academic programmes. The applicants must have previous work experience in large-scale international exhibitions or biennales, and have the capability to recognise Busan’s identity, history, culture and future through exhibitions. The artistic director will be selected by 6 January 2018 through both open recruitment and recommendation. JOB | Munich, Germany | Senior Curator & Junior Curator | Haus der Kunst – 17 December 2017

The Stiftung Haus der Kunst München – a non-profit company operating one of the world’s most recognised cultural institutions of contemporary art – is openly seeking a senior curator and a junior curator. The senior curator will be in charge of the conception of exhibition programmes and active mediation in the field of global contemporary art. The applicants must have experience and commitment to the museum and exhibition industry, with a scholarly academic degree and excellent knowledge in the field of art history of the 20th to the 21st century on an international level. In close co-operation with the chief curator, the junior curator is responsible to assist the latter in his/her areas of responsibility. OPEN CALL | Dakar, Senegal | Call for Applications | RAW Académie – 14 January 2018

RAW Académie is an experimental residential programme for the research and study of artistic and curatorial practice and thought. The programme takes place over seven weeks in Dakar. It is a tuition-free experimental study programme. Each session is directed by a lead faculty who has displayed an off-the-beaten-track practice in regard to art, curating and art criticism. The next session will take place from 26 March to 11 May 2018, led by the Durban-based South African performance and video artist Tracey Rose. Ideal fellows are new graduates from art schools, curatorial programmes and various fields of the humanities. The application process is online only. Only the first 75 applications will be considered for review. A maximum of 10 fellows is selected for each session. Only shortlisted applicants will be notified and invited for an online interview. OPEN CALL | UK | Call for Entries | Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2018 – 22 January 2018

Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2018 is open to individual artists or collaborative groups who meet the criteria specified: undergraduates (final year) or postgraduates enrolled or just graduated in fine art at a UK college, current participants on alternative learning programmes, and those completing an alternative programme of study within the last 12 months. OPEN CALL | Suzhou, China | Call for Art Residency | Untitled Space (Artist Initiative Space) – apply by unspecified

Untitled International Art Residency is one of the important aspects of Untitled Space (Artists Initiative Space). This artist residency programme encourages both young artists to continue their practice upon graduation and practicing artists. The duration will be between one to three months. Total cost for one month stay in the AIR programme is RMB5300 (USD801). Following admission, the artist must make an initial payment of RMB2000 (USD302) as a deposit, while the rest of payment of RMB3300 (USD499) will be made upon arrival at the residence. MORE HERE

With studios dedicated to ceramics, glass art, metal, jewellery and lacquer, Qingyun’s residency programme combines traditional culture and heritage with contemporary art and design. Qingyun’s residency is located in Daxing. Far away from the city centre of Beijing, the residency is surrounded by farmland and nature. Artists from all nationalities and ethnicities are encouraged to apply. Artists are responsible for their international travel and visa costs. Local accommodations and studio space are provided by the residency. Each artist has a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen in a Beijing-style courtyard (siheyuan), as well as a bicycle. OPEN CALL | Taiwan | Call for Arists | Soulangh Artist Village – 10 December 2017

International artists participating in the Residence Programme of SAV stay in a vibrant community of artists and have the opportunity to exchange techniques and ideas with other artists, including local and international, emerging and established. Artists live in close proximity to local craftsmen and artisans, and are encouraged to take the community and the vibrant local culture as inspiration for their artworks. The village has professional, wheelchair-accessible, air-conditioned, modern studio spaces, galleries and theatres for exhibitions, workshops and performances. The Courtauld Gallery particularly known for its French Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings is currently looking for a Marketing & Communications Intern. This is a part-time paid internship for 3 days a week and would last for six months. Ideal candidates must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong administrative skills. Applicants must also demonstrate interest in museums, galleries and art in general. Knowledge in marketing is an advantage. The successful applicant will assist the Gallery Marketing & Communications Manager in implementing creative and targeted marketing campaigns for The Courtauld Gallery’s exhibitions, displays, events and other campaigns.
